10-Year-Old Boy Saves The Day By Helping Mom Deliver His Baby Brother

They say kids are growing up faster these days and if there was any doubt, one 10-year-old boy may be the proof.

With all of the things children see on the Internet, it’s no wonder.

Jayden’s Fontenot is being hailed as a hero after his quick thinking saved the lives of his mom and baby brother.

Ashly Moreau, Jayden’s mom, was 34 weeks pregnant when she felt something wasn’t right.

Once she got to her bathroom, she realized her water had broke and her baby was in the breech position.

Even worse, Ashly could feel her baby’s feet already exiting the birth canal.

Jayden ran to his grandmother’s house next door for help but she was recovering from surgery and couldn’t. She did, however, call 9-1-1.

When Jayden returned home, his mom was bleeding badly and according to Ashly, Jayden calmly took control.

“When he got to the bathroom, he just took a deep breath and said, ‘Ok, Mom, just tell me what I need to do,’” Ashly said. “He didn’t look scared, he looked calm and brave and I said ‘Ok, I’m going to tell you what to do and we need to get your brother out as fast as possible because he’s breeched and he can’t breathe.’”

Jayden pulled on his baby brother’s legs every time Ashly pushed, just like she told him to.

Suddenly, baby Daxx was born, but there was still something wrong: He wasn’t breathing. Jayden rushed to the kitchen and grabbed a nasal aspirator and cleared his baby brother’s nose.

Daxx began to breathe.

Just then, the first responders arrived on the scene and were able to take over.
